Social Media Marketing: Big City, Small World…

This morning one of my clients from New York City Instant messaged me to let me know how successful his Social Network Marketing (SNM) Campaign has become for him. This client owns a multi-practice medical office in midtown
Manhattan. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) had proven to be fruitful. Pay-Per-Click Marketing was outrageously expensive, and traditional advertising just wasn’t cutting the mustard. My client was looking for a way to effectively build on the success of his SEO campaign and bring his practice a wider potential client base.

Manhattan has over 8 million people working and living within 31 miles of island – Yeah, that’s a lot of people in a little bit of space. Typically you can find just about anything you’re looking for within a 10 block radius of your job or home. Not surprisingly, a majority of the patients of this medical office fell within that range. In addition, this particular practice knew that 70% of their target market was women between the ages of 25-40. That’s when Digital Surgeons’ Client Strategist decided that Social Network Marketing would be an inexpensive internet marketing strategy that could deliver a good return on investment.

The Digital Surgeons team launched the SNM campaign on Friday and the website immediately saw a sudden spike in the traffic as if someone had just used a defibrillator on it! By Monday morning my client had two appointment requests, several people showing interest, and a complimentary website owner looking to trade inbound links.

Not bad for a weekend in small business online marketing if you ask me…

Incredibly enough, the same webmaster that was looking to trade links had just a week ago contacted my client about a co-promotional marketing campaign.

I guess it’s a small world after all.
