Digital Surgeons is a demand design consultancy that partners with brands in high-growth categories to explore and unlock new business-building possibilities. We’re headquartered in our very own technology & innovation campus in New Haven called District that’s filled with entrepreneurial and creative energy. 

Our Client Leader is the trusted advisor for both internal and external constituents, working with our brand experience design practice. You are second to none when it comes to advising clients, guiding objective setting, and translating those objectives into actionable strategies and projects for our team. You are the primary point of contact between our clients and the agency, overseeing the development, execution, and delivery of the work product as it relates to brand identity development and digital product design. As a team leader, you not only lead projects but you’ll also set the bar for quality, and guide best practices across the agency as part of the Client Success Team. You’ll work with strategists, design directors, copywriters, engineers,, and project leaders to make magic happen for our clients; inspiring at every turn!

Success is measured by maintaining high levels of client satisfaction and retention through relationship-building, delivery of a quality work product, and organic business growth.

What You’ll Do


  • Serve as a trusted advisor for clients and internal teams alike. 
  • Advocate for staff growth and provide clear and regular performance feedback
  • Support account team by contributing to the strategic output on your designated account

Business Building

  • Own and drive the agency’s business relationship with clients with an eye toward maximizing revenue opportunities and long-term strategic influence
  • Generate brand-building ideas and solutions and inspire big idea development amongst the team
  • Actively seek new brand project assignments from current clients
  • Assist in the intake process by creating opportunity briefs, creative briefs, SOWs, retainers, and contracts
  • Present and sell Digital Surgeons’ proposals, work, and POV’s to clients and stakeholders

Strategic Thinking

  • Have awareness of major market trends and a good grasp of how they may affect the industry, your client, and their brands
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the brands, your strategic/relevant histories, and performance
  • Possess strategic skills that go beyond category/industry experience and include collaboration with strategy teams and methodologies
  • Maintain a regular cadence of client meetings to pull a broader business, marketing, political, and brand news/priorities/challenges perspective that can help Digital Surgeons be the most informed partners
  • Work upstream with clients to qualify, shape, and strengthen upcoming briefs/opportunities to maximize Digital Surgeons’ business value

Client Services

  • Lead clients with great empathy for their individual and business goals
  • Continuously learn about our clients’ businesses 
  • Demonstrate understanding of client’s vision or mission
  • Ensure high visibility and awareness of the agency among clients
  • Consistently seek to identify and close (and pre-close) any client expectations + relationship gaps
  • Leverage client knowledge to help agency teams operate with empathy on client circumstances
  • Partner with enterprise clients to lead projects to create visual identities and new digital products that address our clients’ unique opportunities and challenges and resonate with consumers.
  • Orchestrate the activities leading to deliverables such as brand logo marks, identity systems, guidelines, branded collateral, packaging, display units, social content, landing pages, product interfaces, and investor presentations (to name a few) while upholding the best practices outlined by DS
  • Support the presentation work and with a strong POV through a data-driven, human-centered lens to both clients and internal project teams.
  • Actively plan, facilitate, and/or participate in immersion or ideation sessions representing the look, feel, and functionality of brand communications and digital experiences.
  • Assist in the execution of UX research-related activities as it relates to developing and launching new products and services.
  • Contribute to the creation of key UX deliverables including user flows, sitemaps, wireframes, and prototypes as needed to reflect high-impact user functionality for a product or experience focused on a client’s business goals.
  • Act as a guardian to ensure consistency of brand across platforms.
  • Serve as a conduit for sourcing freelancers, vendors, and partner platforms as needed to successfully execute project initiatives and activities.
  • Ensure best practices are always upheld
  • Keeps aware of the overall financial health of an engagement
  • Look for workflow efficiencies. Always iterate for improvement

  • 10+ years of Account Management or operational leadership at a brand design consultancy, marketing consultancy and/or digitally-led marketing agency 
  • Experience working with enterprise clients
  • Experience managing budgets and P&L
  • Persuasive communication and ability to command a room
  • Strong aptitude for the role and impact of digital media and platforms
  • Exposure to a diverse range of industry category verticals

Salary Range:

$75,000-$90,000 + DOE
