Never stress over packing again. There’s an app for that.
These days, it’s all about mobile. So when The Camp Authority, a website community for all things camp, including a matching program for kids and camps, came to us to create a utility that would increase awareness for their one-of-kind web application, we immediately thought “mobile app.”
The result was a useful app to help with packing for camp, keeping parents sane and equipping kids with everything they need for their summer. Let’s face it, no one wants to be the kid sitting lakeside without swim trunks or hiking in flip-flops.

Never forget your underwear again.
Packing can be extremely stressful, especially when you are packing for a long camp stay. We thought a mobile app would simplify and demystify the process.
Creating value is critical!
We believe you can’t make content for the sake of making content. There has to be inherent value. This app creates that value.
The application allows you to set the trip date, which automatically creates a countdown clock that you can refer back to. Once your date is set, you can move on to the packing list. We created 12 pre-made categories (clothing, toiletries, bedding, etc.) that you can add to, edit, or delete. Under each category you can list your items and the number of which you want to pack. As you add the packed items to your app your progress bar fills up. The progress bar creates the games reward, success! When you hit a 100 percent, you have successfully packed everything you need for your trip.
Pick a DateStart by setting your trip date. A daily reminder to your email address will make sure you’re staying on track with your packing. |
Pack by CategoryUse the 12 premade categories or create your own. Under each category, list your items. Each packed item feeds your progress. |
Monitor ProgressMake no mistake. A progress indicator lets you know if you’re on track. Rest assured, on this trip, you won’t forget a thing! |

No media buys, no press releases. Just organic downloads.
In the first week, things were really exciting for this mobile app. Our mobile analytics showed 10,000 downloads (we launched right before camp season). Since then, we’ve been getting a steady 500-1,000 downloads a week. Overall, the ratings have been 4 star or better, except when someone downloads it for regular travel use and gets mad that we suggest a robe and slippers. Others get frustrated when they can’t figure out that you can add to, edit and delete lists. Those people usually get ridiculed by a 12-year-old that defends us as if she is related to the owner of The Camp Authority.
